Emotions matter taster talk

A one hour taster talk for COMENSA coaches explaining emotions, what they are and the importance of attending to emotional health. The talk will end off with a "taster" of Shape of Emotion in a group setting.

Workshop & Emotional Fitness Class+

Together with the Yivani Mbali Foundation and the It Starts With Me campaign, a mini workshop was held in Durban city centre for a group of approximately 30 Early Childhood Development (ECD) practitioners and educators. Organised by the Linda Zama Trust, the workshop explored how Shape of Emotion could support emotional resilience with interested ECD practitioners.

At a wellbeing day being held for the social workers and psychologists who work at the Klerksdorp Correctional Centre we shared some research and information around what emotions are and how they affect us physically. This was be followed by an Emotional Fitness Class.

Emotional Fitness Class+

Together with the Yivani Mbali Foundation and the It Starts With Me campaign, a mini workshop was held at a leading Johannesburg private school to a small group of staff. The workshop focused on the mental and emotional health challenges and concerns faced by teachers, pupils, parents and the greater society at large.

The group was guided through an Emotional Fitness Class in order to experience the Shape of Emotion process. The workshop was conducted with a view to introducing Shape of Emotion and its various solutions to the school as a self Care solution and / or an Ease programme for the learners.

Jeppe Park Primary School Taster Talk to Teachers

Originally 5th Place was called on to do some work with the children at the school affected by recent xenophobic attacks. After some discussion it was deemed better to introduce the work to the teacher body first.

We presented a short introductory talk on what emotions are and the need for regulation to support both physical as well as mental health. The teachers were then taken through an Emotional Fitness Class to down regulate one difficult emotion and up regulate a supportive one using Shape of Emotion.
