About Enabling the How
Our call to action at 5th Place is to focus on developing emotional fitness and mental well-being in order to create positive change in the world. Join us, Chantal and Matthew, co-owners of 5th Place, in our escapades every week as we stumble and trip, dance and whirl our way through very normal and not so normal weeks in their drive to make the world a better place. This “How” comes in many different forms and in this case it comes in the form of sharing life, loves, and loss. It’s also a whole lot of what living is like in South Africa.

A gentler, quieter time
We took a quiet trip to the Garden Route to reconnect with family and friends, pick strawberries and hibernate for a bit in the early winter.
Consciously create your day
Do you wake up and consciously create your day? How wonderful it is to have the power to do so.
Some things take longer
After many delays we eventually moved back into our room. Some things just take longer than expected. And that’s okay.
Let go and let flow
An itchy and scratchy week changes tempo and yields surprising fruits after we opt to let go and go with the flow.
Somatic surfing
A show about a dysfunctional family had us laughing knowing we all have one. It takes some somatic surfing to surface the stuff that needs releasing.
It’s all in the tone
Tone of voice is crucial for communication and can sound the difference between conflict and care. Not so easy to express when texting.
Raising the vibration
A musical show and a magical walk gave us the opportunity to raise the vibration and extend it across the long weekend.
