The impact of lockdown on relationships and what you can do about it
Register for August 12, 2020
We are social, relational beings. As humans we need the touch, comfort and engagement with other humans. Extended self isolation, social distancing, constraints on our movements and extended time in a confined environment with a few other people like a partner, children and / or housemates will put increased pressure on how we interact and get on.
Working from home, balancing work, family and on and off again schooling is demanding in and of itself. This balancing act would be stressful enough with no lockdown. With lockdown and it’s constantly changing regulations on top of fears about the state of the economy, salary reductions, concerns about losing one’s job or business, that stress monitor is probably buzzing off the charts right now. When we are in this state: anxious, afraid or upset we tend to react and react badly either by clamming up or lashing out.
What do we all know about building good relationships? The importance of open, clear communication. How easy is it to do that when tensions run high? It’s not! So that’s why it is useful to be prepared. And that’s what we are doing here - educating and increasing awareness to change behaviour.
The duration of the webinar is one hour.
There is no charge for the webinar, the webinar is free.

At 5th Place we support the physical and emotional wellbeing of people by enabling them to regulate how they feel on a scale to match the size of the problem.
We often get asked why we chose to call ourselves 5th Place? Why not 1st or 2nd or 3rd? There is a story behind the choice of the name. It is short.
Shape of Emotion is a model, process and tool of how we structure, store, represent and regulate our inner feeling states.
We regularly publish news, updates, tips and insights on our work, mindfulness, emotional wellbeing and mental health. Read them here.
