Anxiety disorders are one of the most common mental health conditions and challenges facing people today. You need and want immediate relief from anxiety.

Our approach and method works with all major kinds of anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social phobia (also known as social anxiety disorder) and separation anxiety disorder and others.

Many other therapies for anxiety, like CBT emphasise talking and the brain. Other anxiety interventions like exposure therapy make you face very thing that causes the anxiety in the first place.

Our therapeutic approach for anxiety relief is different. We work directly with the source of suffering, clearing and releasing the emotional distress to allow for immediate relief.

The methodology and approach we use is based on the latest advances in neuroscience and focuses on healing the anxiety through an emotion regulation process and tool. It's gentle and easy to use. There is less talking and very little analysis.

There are many scientific studies that show the effectiveness of regulating emotions. By working with the source of the anxiety in your body and regulating the anxiety emotions, we are able to support you returning to a state of harmony and balance in a way that works deeper and quicker than traditional therapies. This results in fewer anxiety therapy sessions and faster solutions for anxiety that last longer.

Online and easily accessible anxiety therapy sessions

We hold our anxiety therapy sessions online and each session lasts 50 minutes. They are easily accessible using Zoom.

If face-to-face is preferred, and you are in or near our area (Johannesburg, South Africa) this is an option too.

Support for ongoing change and improved wellbeing

We recommend a minimum of three sessions to effectively and sustainably manage anxiety. Once you have attended these anxiety relief therapy session, you aren’t left on your own. 5th Place offers a variety of ways to support you in the ongoing process of managing your levels of anxiety.

Inner change work is a process and we encourage continued self-care work either by attending more therapy sessions or by using our supportive emotional fitness group classes. These are available between sessions and can be used as exercises on their own or ongoing self care to continue the journey of healing and growth.
