What's an Emotional Fitness Class?
Everyone knows what a yoga class is, and an aerobics, pilates, and spinning class, right? They are classes we go to, usually at a gym or studio, to get physically fit, to stretch and tone, sweat and breathe. We all know that getting physically fit is good for us and that it is often easier to attend a class than it is to do the workout on our own.
Not everyone may know that it is as important, if not more so, to attend to your inner state. Emotions are inextricably linked to our physical well being, the strength of our immune system and the ability to heal and remain healthy. When emotions are expressed the biochemicals they live in flow freely and the body remains whole. When emotions are stuck, repressed, or denied, the neural pathways get blocked affecting our behaviour and biology. No kidding. There's tons of research to back this up.
An Emotional Fitness Class is a guided group meditative session focused on clearing stuck emotions. We work on the experience of the feeling and not the label. There is no need to share what, or why, you are feeling the way you do. You just need to be able to feel that feeling. Then we guide you, using the Shape of Emotion process to release and let it go. We also offer you the opportunity to feel more of a supportive, positive emotion. All of this in less than an hour. It's like a yoga class for your insides. Emotional Fitness Classes build emotional resilience, psychological strength and physical wellbeing.
To make it easy to attend we offer the class via the online app called Zoom. This is similar to Skype. You need to download the app to your phone or PC, register for the relevant class using the link we send you each week and then log in via the link provided on registration at 17:30 every Thursday. No need to go anywhere. You do need data, though, preferably Wi-Fi but you don't even need to show your face. You just need to see us for the touch points and then hear us for the guided process. Easy peasy.
Sound scary? For some, maybe. We do appreciate that encountering our emotions is the last frontier. Word has it that the next Red Bull Challenge will be about getting in touch with your emotions and working on them. We challenge you to try the class out.
